After last weekend’s high profile FA Cup game at Billericay Town it’s a return to the normality of league action for Didcot this weekend as we make another of the league’s longer journeys this time to Cinderford Town.
Didcot will be looking forward to putting last week’s defeat behind them as they look to continue their strong early season league form and are looking for their 4th win in a row. Despite the 5-0 scoreline last week Didcot performed admirably for the most part against an incredibly strong opposition and will be itching to put the 2nd half performance right at Cinderford.
Cinderford were relegated from the Southern Premier Division last season and have made an indifferent start to the new season. 2 impressive FA Cup wins aside against Slimbridge and most recently Moneyfields it’s only 1 win in the league so far for the “Forresters” and that coming with a commanding 3-0 win over current bottom side Bishops Cleeve, they’ve had 2 defeats against Evesham United and a disappointing 3-1 home loss to Barnstaple Town along with an opening day draw with Swindon Supermarine. The most recent result being the 2-1 win over Moneyfields which will give them a welcome confidence boost ahead of Didcot’s visit and make the trip an even trickier one for the Railwaymen.
As for squad news Didcot are likely to take the same squad to Cinderford from Saturday’s FA Cup game, there are no new injury concerns so manager Andy Ballard will have a full squad to pick from and possibly a few tricky decisions to make.
There is no coach service for Saturday’s game so supporters will have to make their own way to Cinderford’s Causeway Stadium. The address is as follows
